Ara Melkonians joined Pacifica Mortgage in 2005 and has been financing real estate transactions since 1999. Prior to joining Pacifica, Ara managed and originated residential mortgage loans at AP Realty & Finance, as well as at American Financial Services, both located in Glendale, where he specialized in meeting the needs of Peace Officers and Fire Fighters.
Ara attended Chowchilla High School in Fresno and then moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to attend Glendale Community College. He was conferred with a BA in Political Science from California State University at Los Angeles. After his graduation, Ara felt compelled to serve his community and was sworn in as Deputy Sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Ara worked a variety of assignments covering five L.A. County Superior Courthouses, as Bailiff for more than ten judges and justices, and patrol officer at three area stations [Crescenta Valley, Altadena and West Hollywood]).
Ara is fluent in Spanish, Armenian, Farsi and English. When he is not taking care of client needs, Ara enjoys tennis, chess, and is a ranked backgammon player.
